' Some people believe that money can’t buy happiness ' issue

Topic :

Some people believe that money can’t buy happiness.
Do you agree or disagree?

Answer :

In modern era, capitalism seems to dominate not only society and economy, but also our lives. Nevertheless, some people believe that happiness cannot be purchased by money. I do not agree to this opinion because money can increase a level of the satisfaction that people have in their lives.

Wealth enables people to meet basic needs and is likely to make people more satisfied with their lives. All people should fulfill some physical needs to be happy, which include a comfortable home and sufficient amount of foods. Even though meeting these requirements does not mean being happy directly, people without enough money to buy them tend to live in a needy and miserable condition. Furthermore, the rich can seek happiness more actively because richness means ability to spend their money on what they want beyond the minimum cost for survival.

Affluency also influences the mental and emotional conditions of people. The rich do not need to feel too careful and anxious to their possessions than the poor because they have a financial margin ensuring the good quality of life. This economic stability can provide them with more positive and optimistic perspectives leading to a happier life. In contrast, the poor should often struggle not to skip a meal and not to be a homeless, and this financial condition may make them too careful and nervous to their spendings all the time.

In conclusion, there is a clear relation between money and quality of life in terms of both physical and mental aspects. It may sound too rough saying that we can buy happiness, but definitely money can definitely offer higher possibilities to live a relatively happy life.
