' Online materials vs. printed material ' issue

Topic :

Some people believe online reading materials should only be used for a child to learn to read, whereas others believe only printed material should be used. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Answer :

Children nowadays can learn more from reading than those in the past with the aid of technology. In this regard, it is often argued that online learning programmes can teach reading to them better. However, many opponents say that paper books still work, and I agree with them. In this essay, I will discuss both views and my opinion.

If young pupils use online reading materials, they do not have to carry heavy books in their bags when they go to school. For example, dictionaries are the most important materials for them because they are the beginners as readers. They will need it to read more at school and at home. However, bringing it every day can affect their health of backbone because they are in the stage of growing. If they learn reading online, they will be able to read whatever and wherever they want.

Meanwhile, printed reading materials can also help young people in a classroom. Actually, the students already spend an excessive amount of screen time each day when they do not study out of school, and using more screens to read can weaken their visibility. Especially reading is an activity that requires more focus of the readers, and they will have the risk of eye strain and shortsightedness. Paper books will reduce this problems because they have no blue light directly coming from the devices.

In conclusion, both printed and online reading materials have advantages. Children can enjoy reading heavy books online or may want to open paper books more frequently. However, I personally believe that reading with printed pages will be better because reading actually starts from the opening.
