Topic : 

Many employers are employing people with good social skills as well as good qualifications. Do you agree or disagree that good social skills are as important as good qualifications to succeed in a job?

 

Answer : 

 

Today, as the importance of diversity is increasing, teamwork has become an essential part of company culture. In this regard, it is often argued that social skills should equally be treated as any other top qualifications at work. I also agree with this statement, and in this essay, I will discuss its reasons.

 

When employees have social intelligence, it is much easier to cultivate loyalty among them. They are able to build strong relationships not just with coworkers but also with the company. This is because they can understand vision of their company and contribute accordingly. Companies usually have a long tradition since it has been found, and it must take time to make all the workers informed of their one consistent goal. People with social skills and their hard works will minimise this time.

 

In addition, emotional connections at work are important in the technology friendly environment today. Workers spend most of their time while staring down at screens rather than faces of each other. However, this does not mean that social skills are not necessary anymore. Actually, this working style is possible because there is trust between employees and the teamwork enables them to know what to do next without talking. If more members are social people, the team will be able to maximise the advantage of technology.

 

In conclusion, social skills and other job qualifications are all important when hiring people. This is because there has been a change in the working environment and it expects them to be more human.
