' Some people think that big international sporting events are not worthwhile for the host country' issue

Topic :

Some people think that big international sporting events are not worthwhile for the host country. Do you agree or disagree?

Answer :

There are many people who want sports games internationally known to be held in their own countries. Some people believe that being a host does not help, while others think that offering a venue for the global events will benefit themselves. I disagree that hosting world events is discouraging. In this essay, I will discuss why it is important to open countries when they can.

Sometimes, people say that developing countries in particular cannot afford and should not be an international host of sports events. If there is no benefit for the host, it would be absurd to repeatedly take the same events worldwide. There should have been different qualifications in the first place before encouraging every countries to join. What makes the leading countries economically vulnerable is not the participation. It is their way to govern the whole new event. Then this would be a different agenda to be discussed.

When sporting events are successfully done internationally, there are some gains for hosting nations. Inside of the country, there can be an increase of jobs in relating industries. It will contribute to reduce reduce unemployment rates of developing countries. Also, outside of the country, the perception of people towards the country can be changed more positively in a relatively short period of time. As a result, there will be new potential visitors who would like to come to.

Additionally, some extra benefits of holding sports games may start after finishing the actual event. The thousands of citizens of a host nation city will be able to live with memories, and the whole nation can also have more years celebrating the day of event. Foreign countries and people will pay more attention when the country has different series of festivals later on. Even though hosting is unsuccessful, it will be much easier for an experienced country to get a second chance next time. After the failure they will try harder to improve and be as a more qualified country as other neighboring countries are.

In conclusion, holding a global sporting event can benefit the hosting country. Whether it is successful or not, it gives the country the change to grow by using the universal language of sport.
