Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Answer :
It is a common belief that today’s world has become too complex through the development even to the redundant extent. However, I firmly believe that the advance brought various choices to our lives.
To begin with, the huge development of society had made a lot of ways to live one’s life. It is not confined anymore because of the factors like border, language, and so on. People can make a choice for where they will live in the future, and which job they will take, and even when it comes to selecting for today’s dinner menu, there are so many options to choose. To take an example about jobs, there is one who had decided to take a job in the business management sector. However, business is not defined as simply “running a company” thing these days. One should make a choice for which field he or she would work for, such as managing in the hotel, sports, or events sector.
Moreover, people’s lives are no more simplified like those in the past. Simple structure of society was able to offer only few choices. For example, back in the old days, most of the people had no choice but to be a farmer. There was no specific reason because it was just considered to be natural. In fact, it was natural, of course, since there were plenty of fields but no other places to work in. Such a simple society became diverse after going through the development, with having new circumstances like establishments of the service industries.
In conclusion, nowadays people are happy for having multiple options, because they can enjoy a freedom in making choices in there own lives. Thus, I completely disagree with the negative assertion about having many choices is only about being complex.
