' People sleep less than before in many countries. Why do people sleep less? ' issue

Topic :

People sleep less than before in many countries. Why do people sleep less? What effect does it have on an individual and on society?

Answer :

Today, reduced hours of sleep have become a problem over the world. There are more stressors than before, and it threatens basic human needs including sleep and well being. This essay will discuss the reason and effects in detail.

In modern world, many cities are awake for 24 hours, and citizens live in the same cycle. They just follow the fast pace of development because society changes without a warning for them to do what is next. They have to prepare for the future without plans. They sacrifice the present time and work over hours. They believe that it is the fastest way to create the better future. As a result, existing boundary between personal life and professional one gets dim. The demand for work and life balance represents the desire to get the life back.

When individuals lack sleep, they can become less immune and susceptible to illness. It means that even though they want to work more hours, they cannot do what they want to. Moreover, once their health is weakened, it will not be restored any time soon. Because of this, some organizations force them to stop working and leave their jobs. If there are more workers with ill health, this laying off will more commonly happen. Then society in general will lose trust and become unreliable.

In conclusion, more and more people lose their health and jobs because of lack of sleep. The fast changing society is responsible for this, and it can be a worse place to live if this continues.
