Answer :

Many agree that the importance of proper parenting could never be overstated. However, the question of how is always the difficult one. Some parents try to help their children’s schoolwork such as assignments and exams, while others would rather spend time playing sports with them.

It is clear that parents are a huge influence to their children regarding their academic achievement at school. Children, especially the younger ones spend most of their day with their parents. Thus when it comes to learning, parents could make a huge difference by assisting and encouraging their child’s schoolwork. People who argue that parents should put effort on helping their children’s schoolwork would believe that children need help in developing higher academic abilities, and parents are the best regarding the giving of the help.

On the contrary, some people insist that parents should invest more time doing physical activities with their children. This is also a valid argument, given the fact that children nowadays are doing less physical activities compared to the past. Exercising plays an essential role in body development. In other words, parents can help their children grow up as an healthy human being by spending more time doing sports with their children.

To sum up, people have different opinions about how parents should allocate their time while raising a child. I believe that parents should devote more time doing outdoor activities with their child rather than helping schoolwork. Playing sports with children could only be seen positive not only because it has a health benefit, but also because it can help children to form a strong emotional bonding while competing and cooperating with their family.
