Percentages of Sodium, Saturated Fats, Sugars in Meals


Topic : 
The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be nhealthy if eaten too much Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.


 

Answer : 

 

The given charts give statistical information about average ratios of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar in everyday meals in the USA, which are not good for people’s health if taken excessively. 

 

In general, sodium and saturated fat are consumed more in dinner than any other meals, while added sugar is taken the most from snacks. 

 

Dinner accounts for 43% and 37% in sodium and saturated fat respectively while only 23% of the total intake of added sugar comes from dinner. On the other hand, it is 42% that the snacks make up in adder sugar while the ones in sodium and saturated are only 14% and 21%. 

Breakfast accounts for 14% or 16% in the three kinds of nutrients, which is the lowest ratio among the meals and snacks in the three nutrients. Accordingly it seems that breakfast is a more relatively healthy meal for nutrients than other meals and snacks.
