The two pie graphs describe the percentage of five reasons for the use of bicycle and car as a means of commuting. Overall, it can be seen that comfort was the most common factor for driving, while more than half of the total respondents commuted by cycling due to health and environmental concern.

As regards to cycling, the proportion of both health and fitness and less pollution were the highest at 30%, the sum of which accounted  for more than half. At the same time, the rest of the categories showed similar percentages, being lower than 15%. Looking at the detail, 15% chose cycling as a mode of commute to avoid parking problems, whereas percentage of people with economical reason was 13%. Interestingly, there were also 12% of people who used bicycle with the reason that cycling was faster than driving.

Turning next to driving, 40% of people used their car to work, followed by distance to work at 21%. 14% of individuals drove cars with the reasons of faster speed than cycling or carrying things to work. The remaining 11% of drivers to work answered that the use of a car would be safer than cycling.
