Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Answer :

It is a common belief that some critics assert that it is equal for each group members to be allocated the same mark after finishing a group project. On the other hand, other people strongly disagree that allocating the same grade regardless of their contributions trigger to the retardness among group members. I will highlight both views and present my own opinion.

To begin with, there is no suitable criteria to assess group member's contributions. If professors assess the capability of group members reflecting their contributions, members would severely dispute over this point. Eventually they would become enemies with one another. Thus, allocating the same grade regardless of their roles can bolster the team work. Also, grading the same mark is helpful of stimulating their coherences for a long period. This is because the purpose of group presentation is the unity among group members.

Nevertheless, giving the same mark to students may cause negative consequenses between students. If all students achieve the same grades from their professors despite their efforts to team, feww members will become free riders in this group with their laziness. For example, most communist countries soely focused on the equal society, and always allocated the same amount of living expenses regardless of their efforts. Nowdays, most communist countries abandoned this policy, then accepted capitalism. To prevent laziness, each student should be given to different grades reflecting their contributions.

To sum up, it is clear that allocating the same mark can not only diminish few disputes, but also stimulate team organizations. However, it is undeniable that compensating discriminately can sustain the team work for a long-term.
