Entertainment makes people’s life abundant in many ways. There are different forms of entertainment, and movies are one of them. There is an opinion that spending time on it is a waste, but I disagree with it. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons.
Movies show many different sides of life, and people can learn from it to improve many aspects of their own lives. It zooms in a life of one individual. The character feels real, and thus their life feels real. A story beneath strengthens this feeling. Their life can be an unfinished thing as long as people remember after watching the movie. How it ends will affect their life. They will think about what they can do to make their lives to be remembered, like everything which ran throughout the movie to make the conclusion of the story.
Even though there is not an interesting story in a movie, it is still worth watching because it is a piece of art. Watching sequences of shots on a screen in a theatre is like viewing paintings on a wall in a gallery. There might not be a context or meaning between those sequences. While watching the movie, people might think that there is nothing to teach or nothing to learn. However, they will soon realise that there actually were something to teach and something to learn. Only some films and its makers as artists can make this possible, and this is what makes the movie so special.
In conclusion, watching movies is not wasting time, and it deserves respect like any other forms of entertainment. It is a shortcut to learn life and enables people to find answers to life questions that they have been looking for so many nights.
